Wine and Wildlife in Healesville for Queens Birthday Weekend
Over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend (11 – 13 June), Healesville Sanctuary will be teaming up with Yarra Valley icons to present a weekend of gourmet food and wine against the backdrop of the Sanctuary’s stunning bushland setting. We'll be showcasing an exciting line-up of local wine, beer and cider as well as a hearty winter menu to sample and purchase. There’ll be roaring open fires, live acoustic music, and some of our furry, feathered and scaly friends roaming the grounds with their keepers. Now in its 5th year, Wine and Wildlife has established itself as a winter event not be missed and it’s just a one hour drive from Melbourne!
From 11am to 4pm each day, four pavilions will be showcasing an exciting line-up of local wineries, breweries and a hearty winter menu for you to sample and purchase. For three days you can indulge in the finest wines from De Bortoli, Punt Road, Oakridge, Payten & Jones, One Block and Boat O'Craigo, craft beers and cider from Napoleone and St Ronan's, delicious chocolates from Kennedy and Wilson, gourmet cheese tastings and more.
WE ARE GIVING AWAY 2 TICKETS TO WINE AND WILDLIFE ON OUR INSTAGRAM @THEWORLDLOVESMELBOURNE. Please go there to enter. In 30 words or less please tell us why you want to win this prize. Winner will be chosen (judges decision final) and will be advised via social media. Entries closes 5pm June 7.
Sanctuary Harvest Head Chef Pascal will be pulling out all the winter favourites from slow cooked beef with winter root veggies to pulled lamb rolls with mint jelly. Warm up by roaring open fires and delight your senses with live acoustic music by Rhys Crimmin, capturing crowds with his warm bluesy style.
Keepers will also be roaming the grounds with some of our furry, feathered and scaly friends for serendipitous wildlife encounters. Plus, don’t forget to take a seat for Spirits of the Sky and the Tales from Platypus Creek show which are also included with entry.
