Portsea Polo and Stay at RACV Cape Schanck Resort
The World Loves Melbourne was invited to spend a fabulous day at Portsea Polo with a stayover at RACV Cape Schanck. This was a day of style and flair, as well as top notch sport. The Portsea Polo is a sought after event with sold out tickets; an event that is much anticipated on the social calendar. The attendees is like a "who's who" of Melbourne and beyond. It's the best dressed social event of the year - summer casual with clean looks.
We began the day by arriving early at the resort and check bags with reception staff. Yay - we can leave our bags and have free parking. And be taken to the event! Our Premium Ocean View Room was available on your return from the Polo. Complimentary car parking was available for the entire weekend.
Morning Peninsula Tours transported us to the Portsea Polo Ground, Point Nepean National Park - so many thanks to them! Also thanks for our return journey!
We attended The Polo Lounge Marquee for a fabulous afternoon of drinks, amazing food and festivities. We're not sure how many of us understood the game of Polo, but it was a fascinating day of sport. The game was fast and intense! This was actually a world class competition.
For many hours we were able to soak up the atmosphere with a glass of bubbles at Melbourne’s most social event of the year, from The Polo Lounge. And we were glad the weather held out! (Image: Portsea Polo Facebook).
On return after a fabulous day at Portsea Polo we were treated to RACV Cape Schanck’s modern Australian cuisine, presented with innovation and flair. We enjoyed the freshest local produce and award-winning wines within the Main Clubhouse’s elegant setting.

What we love about Cape Schank is the elegant setting, the sweeping and stunning views of pristine coastline, the quality of the premium ocean rooms and the hospitality of the staff. We have stayed in RACV resorts before and this is a modern and excellent resort for couples, as well as families.
We appreciated rise and shine at our leisure, followed by a sumptuous buffet breakfast in The Restaurant.. Accommodation Manager Allison McCrindle's guided tour of the facilities and Bass Strait views was also enjoyable. We welcome the use of facilities including golf!
The location of RACV Cape Schanck is excellent too!RACV Cape Schanck is the perfect location to explore the Morning Peninsula - such as days out at Peninsula Hot Springs, Dromana drive-through and Mornington’s gorgeous wineries (including our favourite Merricks Creek Winery in Merricks Creek - one of the best cellar door, dining, and wine tasting experiences in Australia - and some of the best Pinot Noir in Australia), as well as the resorts dining and golfing options.
