Port Phillip Ferry Visit to Terindah Estate on Stunning Bellarine Peninsula
Have you visited Terindah Estate on the stunning Bellarine Peninsula? You should. It's now become even more accessible through the new Port Phillip Ferry Service. Ferries run several times a day to and from Portarlington which means you can take a day trip and experience all the region has to offer and be back in time to watch your next Netflix series in the evening. They have a bus company that drops people to the wineries, so you don't have to drive. Plus the cost of the ferry is extremely affordable (why are some ferry services so damn expensive?).
The World Loves Melbourne was invited on a day trip media tour hosted by Geelong and Bellarine Tourism, Terindah Estate, Port Phillip Ferries and Reymond Communications. Commencing with a ride on the new Port Phillip ferry service from Docklands to Port Arlington, we then proceeded to Terindah Estate, where the wine-makers discussed the upcoming harvest and present their current releases.

The ride across on the ferry was rewarding in itself; with treats from local producers to promote the Bellarine Food Trail (highly recommended) and the captivating views of the bay and the Melbourne city skyline. A great experience!
I was immediately taken by the views at Terindah Estate; it's the killer combination of standout wine, top notch cuisine and sweeping seaside views. A new boutique wine bar has added to the whole experience at Terindah Estate - sit on a raised deck and while away the hours with a decent menu available in the bar area. We enjoyed a serious session of wine tasting where everything was my favourite (strange but true).

The wine-tasting was followed by a degustation lunch, prepared by executive chef Lyndon Betts, and served in the wonderfully light conservatory. An impressive 3 course menu was served with matching wines; I could imagine myself returning with loved ones for a Sunday "sesh".

Port Phillip Ferry service is an exciting new venture. This ferry service between Portarlington & Docklands, runs 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. A 35m catamaran vessel seats 400 passengers and runs direct between Portarlington and Docklands, letting you read the paper, catch up on emails while breathing in the fresh sea air and enjoying the sights and sounds of the bay.
In 2013, The Shed was rated as one of the top 5 Victorian regional restaurants to visit (by Tourism Victoria), led by an experienced team of executive chefs. The menu utilises the abundance of local, seasonal produce available on the Bellarine, including produce from the Terindah property and herb garden.
The indoor and outdoor spaces on Terindah Estate provide flexible options for weddings, conferences and other special events. Their event venue boasts an expansive deck with uninterrupted views across Corio Bay to Geelong and across Port Philip Bay to Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. The lower level houses the Bottling Room and Barrel Store with views of the vines and fields.
Terindah is open 7 days a week for lunch from 12pm - 3pm, weekend breakfast from 8am - 11am and cellar door wine tastings from 10am to 4pm.
Then it was back on the ferry after a day of wonderful indulgence. Highly recommended and thanks to all involved in the organising.
