Fraser Place Melbourne the Place to Stay in Melbourne
Where to stay in Melbourne? You want something that is in the perfect location, a great part of the city, with vibe and close to the best restaurants and cafes. You want the rooms to be well appointed and comfortable with style, excellent service and some gems like a gym and a rooftop area. And of course you want value for money. The World Loves Melbourne was invited to stay at Fraser Place Melbourne which meets all of this and more. We were highly impressed with Fraser Place Melbourne and had a stunning two days exploring Melbourne.
Fraser Place provides accomodation across the world in key cities including Melbourne - you can belong to the club and receive further discounts. With Melbourne famous for its laneways it was appropriate to see Fraser Place Melbourne situated in Exploration Lane. Being a local I find this to be one of the best locations in Melbourne - it's a great part of the city with many city delights at your fingertips within walking distance. And with free tram rides within the Melbourne CBD it's easy to get around.
We were met by the delightful Manager Narelle on arrival. A bottle of choice Australian red wine got our stay off to a flying start. The room were were given was well appointed for the traveller with microwave, dishwasher, free wi-fi, even a stove, safe, modern TV, excellent fridge and best of all a King Bed. Hopefully I haven't left anything out - there was a lot of features. A balcony to the room was cool as was the rooftop area where we imbibed. Perfect on a sunny Melbourne day.
After a relax on the Fraser Place Melbourne rooftop we visited nearby iconic restaurant Bomba Bar, literally a few minutes walk. If you love Spanish tapas this is the place for you. Jesse Gerner is a legendary chef who we know, who has added much to the Melbourne foodie scene with his top notch restaurants. Bomba is a personal favourite, nearly always packed, with a cool buzz.
Great European vibe near Fraser Place Melbourne.
Charcuterie with the best of ingredients.
The food and wine is sensational with European influences and Jesse Gerner's twist. What a night we had and no need to drive home - how good is that! Our night at Bomba began with a drink on the rooftop - one of the best known rooftops in Melbourne with a savvy intimate bar and expert bartenders.
Tapas at its best!
These Crispy Spiced School Prawns were insanely good.
Downstairs in the restaurant a table was reserved for us but we chose to sit at the bar and engage the staff (recommend). The set menu dinner is excellent value and we also added a few appetisers. Not only is the food spectacular here but the drinks game is strong. Check out the Spanish sherry and Vermouth selection. Cocktails here are superb, as well as an excellent wine list and range of beers (check out the Spanish beers). We went with a delicious Tempranillo over dinner and ended with the bartenders choice of Spanish sherry.
Churros with delectable chocolate.
Thanks to Jesse Gerner, Tom the Manager and the staff at Bomba Bar for an sensational evening!
Back to the Fraser Place Melbourne nearby and greeted by staff - yes we had a great night thanks! After an excellent night's sleep we enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast at Fraser Place Apartments with top notch choice.
I should have selected more of the healthy options but we were on the go and needing to meet up for our epic Mornington Peninsula Tour with Get Lost Tours. Meeting nearby at the pick up point we were taken to the glorious Mornington Peninsula for some of the best food and wine around.
Patting the goats and enjoying delicious goats cheese at Main Ridge Dairy.
Our host for the Mornington Peninsula Day Tour was Safari Pete, an absolute Aussie character whose vibrant personality had us all laughing and kept us entertained. From first class goats cheese sampling at Main Ridge Dairy (above) to superb wines and scenery at T'Gallant Winery (check out the Prosecco) it was a well put together enthralling tour. Get Lost Tours conduct tours all over Victoria so if you have a bucket list of places to visit they probably have a tour for you!
The views of Mornington Peninsula from Arthur's Seat were spectacular.
T'Gallant Winery was a delightful stop.
Mock Cider was also another highlight with a cool 1940's building selling some of the best ciders you will ever taste with biodynamic fruit (no pesticides etc.) and freeze dried fruit.
A visit to MP Chocolates for lunch was a highlight - with this chocolatier working with the best chocolate in the world which we sampled. Lunch was gourmet and enjoyable in a modern charming setting while we explored the main street of Flinders.
The Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm was another highlight with sampling of beverages and strawberry picking, an extremely popular destination.

My personal favourite was Green Olive at Red Hill where we sampled some of their wines and food in a magical vineyard setting. We could stay here forever!
Safari Pete still had a couple more surprises such as a stop at Murray's Lookout for spectacular views of the Mornington Peninsula, and a stop at Dromana Beach to see the iconic Beach Boxes. By the time we reached Melbourne we had been thorougly satiated from a day of wine, food, and chocolate! Not to mention the stunning scenery and fine company of people from around the world.
Fraser Place Melbourne staff were friendly engaging and professional, and helped us with a voucher for the car park across the road. You can easily walk to Fraser Place Melbourne from Melbourne Central station nearby, park nearby or of course be dropped thereby from serves at the Airport. Accessible and convenient.
We loved our stay at Fraser Place Melbourne for business travellers as well as families. The price points online are attractive and value for money for such well appointed rooms. And what a great base for your meetings and to explore the many delights of Melbourne. Highly recommended.
