Barilla Masters of Pasta at 2018 Australian Open Impresses
Barilla has hit the high notes at the 2018 Australian Open with its restaurant next door to Rod Laver Arena, and The World Loves Melbourne was invited. Tennis fans were shouting ‘bellissimo’ at the Australian Open as Italy’s number one pasta brand, Barilla, served up delicious Italian dishes created by its Executive Chef, Andrea Tranchero, with an Italian pop on the ground during the tournament.
Where to go for a rewarding Italian pasta meal at the tennis? Tennis fans have the opportunity to enjoy delicious authentic Italian meals at Barilla’s custom-built destination pasta restaurant, located directly outside Rod Laver Arena in Garden Square, open from 11am each day. We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch and generous hospitality with other media then enjoyed some keen championship matches afterwards.

The authentic pop-up restaurant features a series of ace dishes, including classic Italian favourites as well as taste combinations such as tortiglini with eggplant, olives and dry ricotta and cold fusilli with pesto Genovese and salmon, all showcasing delicious and creative ways you can enjoy Barilla pasta and pasta sauces.

Spaghetti with swordfish, calamari, and prawns in Arrabiata sauce was an amazing delicious dish.
Not to mention stunning Penne rigate with chicken ragu mushroom and pecorino cheese.

Epic tennis on a hot day, fortunately the stadium was air conditioned.
