Kid and Family Friendly Wineries on Mornington Peninsula
Where to go for kid and family friendly wineries on Mornington Peninsula. Several of the wineries are family run and cater for kids and families. Here are some of our favourites for kid and family friendly wineries -
Merricks Creek Winery - Merricks Creek
A modern family run bespoke winery with stunning grounds and views and crackerjack wine and gourmet plates. Merricks Creek Winery boasts a vast expanse of lawn where kids can run around. While they have a kids menu the all day menu excites with gourmet plates and platters - we found our kids loved the food here. And the desserts are spectacular also. You can dine here on the raised deck, a stunning vista, or there are several dining areas that are compelling including a couple of tables in the garden. The kids may also admire the design of the cellar door with various textures including old telegraph poles on the deck. There are several fireplaces for when the weather gets cold, which always enchant.
Meatballs!
For the adults, this is some of the best Pinot Noir in Australia, not to mention other wines served here.
The tasting at cellar door with winemaker/owner Dr Peter Parker is compelling and fascinating. And the top notch gourmet plates are reasonably priced - something to bear in mind when you are visiting a winery for lunch with the family.
Montalto Winery - Red Hill South
The newly renovated Montalto is an excellent destination for families with its excellent menu and grounds. Kids can run around on the lawn. A major attraction are the sculptures and art installations - go for a walk with the kids and take it all in. These are top notch sculptures with a stunning vineyard backdrop and hills.
The menu is also appealing for the whole family - with the Piazza Cafe serving share meals including gourmet pizza. Who doesn't love pizza at a winery? A sheltered courtyard and gardens make for a great family environment.
Green Olive - Main Ridge
Green Olive is another family friendly food and wine destination on the Mornington Peninsula. Another excellent place for kids to run around outdoors, and there is a kitchen garden and a dam with ducks. Take advantage of the Olympic size trampoline! Their all day menu is perfect for family dining, and they offer a kids menu.
Green Olive also offers a Farm Kids Program, whichgives children the opportunity to meet farm animals, learn about where food comes, plant seeds and create their artistic impressions of the farm while outside in the fresh air and sunshine.
