Christmas in July with Stella Artois and Pure South Kitchen
Pure South Kitchen and Stella Artois are collaborating for top notch feasting this winter with a stunning Christmas in July dining experience. World class Tasmanian produce shines through in the savvy Christmas style dishes and is matched with Stella Artois beer. The World Loves Melbourne was invited along to Pure South Kitchen in Southbank for this fun Melbourne winter dining offering.
We arrived at Pure South Kitchen to Santa hats draped over the chairs and cool Christmas table decorations.
Shared dining is a fun way to go in enjoying this feast.
Pure South is taking bookings of eight or more on any day or night throughout July for a stunning shared Christmas-inspired menu including a complimentary Stella Artois on arrival for only $50pp. It's a great way to celebrate in the heart of the Melbourne winter. Get festive with your family, friends, or work colleagues.
The Christmas in July experience includes all the Christmas essentials: bonbons, Santa hats, table decorations and Christmas tree. We loved the table decorations and the festive atmosphere, all the while watching the world go by along the boulevard in Southbank. Of course the first thing we did was put on our Santa hats, as we ordered a Stella Artois beer.
Robbins Island wagyu pastrami, kimchi pancake, apple, coriander was a hit.
Pure South has always been one of the best dining destinations in Melbourne in our opinion. We've had some memorable experiences at Pure South, both upstairs and downstairs. There's always been a consistency of high quality dining, spectacular produce and dishes, excellent service and fabulous views. The Tasmanian produce is world class but of course it's also what you do with it. Under head chef David Hall, the produce sings on the plate.
The Christmas in July menu hit the high notes including Tassie lobster & chilli dumplings with mushroom broth. Can you get any more luxe than lobster dumplings? We loved that there were seafood components of the Christmas in July experience. And the mushroom broth had depth of flavour and was a highlight in itself.
Delicious Citrus-cured Huon ocean trout (below), crème fraiche, wakame, puffed rice was a delicious dish highlighting the deliciousness of Huon ocean trout.
Melt in your mouth Robbins Island wagyu pastrami, kimchi pancake, apple, coriander was a clever Christmas style dish with Asian nuances. The pastrami and kimchi pancakes matched perfectly together with refreshing apple and coriander. All the while we enjoyed Stella Artois, a versatile beer that paired perfectly with the food.
Festive fun with fabulous food and drink.
Sensational mains of Pure South Christmas ham and Crispy roast Tasmanian Scottsdale pork were a highlight of our Christmas lunch. Christmas ham with perfect glaze and big flavour.
The Scottsdale pork was a high point of the experience with standout crackling.
Thick slices of standout pork roast.
Both mains were served with generous sides of Pork crackle, braised red cabbage, and Roasted kipfler potato, chestnut.
We remarked that there was a good deal of food. But you also need room for Christmas pudding! Christmas pudding, Pyengana Dairy ice-cream was a perfect way to finish our meal.
We all raved about the Pure South Kitchen and Stella Artois Christmas in July experience. Book your table! Highly recommended.
