New Lunch Spots Panzerotti and Bourbon St
We are always on the lookout for new breakfast and lunch options in the Melbourne CBD. And here are two fresh faces - Panzerotti and Bourbon St lunch service.
Panzerotti
Panzerotti - a delicious secret from the region of Apuglia in Southern Italy - draws upon its humble heritage to bring authentic Italian streetfare to the hungry hearts and mouths of Melburnians. The World Loves Melbourne was invited along to taste and experience this slice of Italy.
Handmade fresh daily with pure Italian love, Panzerotti are golden pastry pockets filled with rustic, heart-warming centres – ideal for lovers of meat, lovers of sweet, vegans and vegetarians! From sumptuous brekkie Panzerotti with egg and bacon, to traditional lunchtime delights with tomato, basil & mozzarella or chicken breast, mushroom, tomato & mozzarella.
I sampled the Capriccio and the Amatriciana panzerotti and found them to be rewardingly tasty with quality hot, melting fillings with mozzarella, and some "kick". The deep fried pizza bread was also moorish.
For those with a sweet tooth - chocolate or banana-cinnamon - Panzerotti has many crowd pleasers. For the price you can afford to buy a couple of these golden delights for lunch - savoury and sweet.
I enjoyed the panzerotti with Nutella, being a Nutella tragic.

Fit out is modern and is a place for a quick convenient meal. Most customers take away, however I sat on the stool to imbibe my panzerotti.
Staff were particularly vibrant and friendly and passionate about the product. Not only did I eat 3 panzerotti but enjoyed Chinotto and a great Italian style coffee. There's a sense of fun about this place!
Panzerotti has a cabinet that's alluring...
Cost is reasonable for a panzerotti - something like the price of a pie or pasty...

Bourbon St
Bourbon Street is a lunch delivery service offering slow-cooked, Southern inspired soul-food. They currently deliver free to Melbourne CBD, South Melbourne, Albert Park and South Yarra (and delivered to me in Docklands).

We enjoyed the Pulled pork and the Jerk chicken baguettes, full of quality filling, and packaged in alfoil to keep them warm.
Our favourite was the Pulled pork - slow cooked pork and slaw was a winner.
The sides of brown rice and slaw were excellent, as were the kale chips (something new for me).
