Mercure Bendigo Schaller is a standout boutique hotel perfect for your next staycation and base to explore the many delights of Bendigo. I was invited to spend a night Mercure Bendigo Schaller and check out Bendigo, and was impressed on arrival with quality artwork everywhere, the engaging staff, and my free drink at the bar.

The four-star boutique hotel is located in the very heart of the thriving Bendigo township and Mercure Bendigo Schaller is an affordable Accor Hotel that offers contemporary accommodation at affordable prices. My Deluxe Superior Room was a double room with plenty of space and features, including a lounge and balcony with a view.

Named after one of Australia’s most iconic contemporary artists - Mark Schaller – the property is close to Bendigo’s city centre - only a short walk - from the Bendigo central township - with easy access to the Bendigo Art Gallery and the Bendigo Showgrounds precinct and all of the award-winning Bendigo City of Gastronomy restaurants, bars and shops. Basically, this hotel is close to everything.

I was able to experience the delights of the Malayan Orchid restaurant in the heart of Bendigo, known to be a premier Asian restaurant in Australia, where I was treated to mainly Chinese dishes with the standout dishes being the Barramundi with Ponzu and soy sauce, Chinese Five-spice Prawns, and the Lobster Lo Mein.
Hustler is a standout burger and BBQ destination in Bendigo, where I enjoyed an exceptional The Hustler signature burger, delicious Popcorn Shrimp, Picles Plate and Bridge Rd Brewers IPA for lunch.

Each air-conditioned room offers free WI-FI, original artwork from Australian contemporary artist Mark Schaller, and a coffee machine. On top of this, guests will be able to enjoy dedicated sport and cable channels on a 42-inch flat-screen TV from their high comfort beds whilst indulging in local produce from the room’s mini-bar.

During your stay, visit Mercure Bendigo Schaller’s on-site cafe and bar - The Pantry - for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Located just inside the doors of the Mercure Bendigo Schaller, make sure to enjoy a relaxed meal full of fresh produce accompanied with delicious locally produced craft beer and wine. I enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast with coffee, Eggs Benedict and side of bacon.
Guests are also welcome to utilise Mercure Bendigo Schaller's on-site fitness centre and rent a bicycle to experience and explore the regional town.
