Launch of Hubert Estate in Yarra Valley
Stunning world class Hubert Estate has launched in the Yarra Valley, a visionary and fabulous partnership between Ryan Hospitality Group and Treasury Premium Brands. We were invited to the launch and experienced a culinary journey with bespoke menu created by Hubert Estate's Executive Chef Michael Smith, paired with the finest wines from St Hubert's.
The St Huberts vineyard was established in 1862 by Charles Hubert de Castella, contributing to the first wave of vine planting in the Yarra Valley. In recent times the estate has become the pride of publicly listed winemakers and distributors Treasury Wines Estate.
Around 2016 the vineyard property was sold to entrepreneur Gerry Ryan, who was responsible for the $16 million redevelopment of Mitchelton Wines, Nagambie, a destination we love and appreciate. Treasury Wines will continue to own the St Huberts brand and rent back the newly developed property, renamed as Hubert Estate, from Gerry Ryan.
A centrepiece building features St Huberts Cellar door on the top floor and a wine retail shop called Notes. Visitors are able to access over seventy different labels from the Treasury Wines portfolio (extensive), as well as the ‘Notes’ brand of bespoke wines. The basement level opens as a gallery space featuring indigenous artists from Victoria and beyond.
Quarters at Hubert Estate restaurant is built around a fast-casual and high-quality menu, with pizza, pasta, burgers, salads and an extensive wine list.
This is another major undertaking for Yarra Valley, with a function and event space called ‘Harriet’ and an eighty room hotel slated to be completed by the end of the year.
