Julia Busuttil Nishimura (aka. Julia Ostro) is one of Australia’s most loved cooks, with her work celebrating simple ingredients, seasonal produce and the joys of coming together at the table. On the day, Julia will be sharing some of her favourite recipes from her best-selling cookbooks Ostro and A Year of Simple Family Food including a hand rolled pasta dish. As the weather starts to cool down, these winter warmers will keep you perfectly satiated and heading back for seconds:
• Pissaladière
• Handmade Cavatelli with Maltese Sausage and Cavolo Nero
• House Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette
• Sweet Ricotta Tart
Even those who don’t like anchovies will love the pissaladière, a combination of caramelised onions, salty black olives and anchovies. After some delicious handmade pasta, enjoy a sweet ricotta tart studded with Italian candied citrus and dark chocolate.
