The First Supper at THE LUME Melbourne X Guy Grossi
We were invited (David and Sam) to LUME Melbourne’s newest experience celebrating the genius of Leonardo da Vinci for a premium Melbourne Food & Wine Festival event The First Supper, THE LUME Melbourne X Guy Grossi.
An unforgettable evening of sensory delight and cultural immersion.
In a culinary journey with a twist through the heart of Italy, we indulged in an unforgettable long-table dining experience (around 600 diners) featuring culinary virtuoso master Guy Grossi's greatest hits.
We (David and Sam) enjoyed sublime dishes -
- Pure di fava, focaccia BareseFava bean dip, focaccia (tasty velvety dip and airy focaccia)
- Carcioncini della cucina Ebraico-RomanescaSilverbeet, pecorino, sage, pine nuts, sultanas (pasta perfection)
- Abbacchio alla RomanaSlow-baked lamb, Parmigiano, breadcrumbs
Peperonata and Italian potatoes (rustic and rewarding)
- TortaRoman burnt cheesecake, cherry (our favourite dish of the night, a sweet crescendo to our gastronomic journey).
Complementing our feast were impeccable selections from @debortoliwines wines, elevating the dining experience to new heights.
As we reveled in each dish, we were immersed in iconic works like the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper as a roll call of Renaissance masterpieces came to life on @thelumemelbourne colossal canvas.
It was amazing to savour the essence of Italy amidst the breathtaking backdrop of THE LUME Melbourne and be among the first to witness the unveiling of the extraordinary and highly anticipated exhibition, Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius presented by Webuild, before it graced the public eye.
Simply breathtaking! A convergence of artistry and gastronomy left us in awe at every turn.
Leonardo da Vinci - ‘500 Years of Genius’ is NOW OPEN. You can purchase your tickets via THE LUME Melbourne’s website.
This was an unforgettable evening of exceptional dining and an inspirational cultural experience.
