Dinner at Moon Dog Wild West
Moon Dog Wild West is a fun and inviting destination that is already taking Melbourne by storm, and we were invited to dinner to experience it all.
Moon Dog a Melbourne based beer icon has launched Moon Dog Wild West as a labor of love. Their Footscray venue, previously the site of Melbourne's iconic Franco Cozzo, is twice the size of their huge Preston venue Moon DogWorld. We had such a fun night at this new compelling destination in Melbourne.

The Tex-Mex and Western inspired menu is top notch and pairs well with the many great Moon Dog beers on tap, featuring items like the Jalapeno Poppers, Buffalo chicken ribs, Crispy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Cripsy Pork Belly, Crispy Baja Fish Tacos, Western BBQ bacon burger and the Santa-Fe salad.

For anyone thirsty and not sipping from the 100+ taps across the venue, standout drinks to give a whirl include the Pickleback shot, Old Fashioned of the day in a barrel (serves four), Layered tequila sunrise slushie or a Hurricane cocktail. Images Arianna Leggiero.

The cocktail/shot menu is carefully curated by 3x Australian Bartender of the Year, Chris Hysted-Adams.
A standout feature for this three level venue is be the centrepiece; the bucking bull. This is where things get seriously fun, in typical Moon Dog fashion. They have introduced the Western Bull Riders Club to Moon DogWild West. This is their buckin' bull riding league that's all about a buckin' good time. You can sign up and experience all the perks of being a bull rider.
As a member of the Bull Riding League, you'll get a name on the 'Bull Riders' board, a record of all scores, regular competitions nights and entry to the annual Western Bull Riders Championship. Fun right?
