Gin Heaven at Dutch Rules Distilling
It was great to meet Danny the owner and his excellent team, and to experience their top quality and innovative gin in an attractive space. The visit was enhanced by a DJ playing tunes from vinyl on a Friday night.

All gins were a standout but Officers Cut stole the show packed with flavor, triple the juniper and featured toasted seaweed, karkalla and olive leaf nuances.
Owner and founder, Danny Perera, is not a stranger to the liquor industry as co-owner and founder of Two Rupees brewery in Clayton. Dutch Rules offers his Two Rupees beer on tap as well as several other excellent beers. The small wine list looked decent as well. 
Born in Sri Lanka, Perera grew up with the Dutch influenced spirit, and wanted to share his experience of gin and the influence local spices like juniper, cardamom and coriander had on the modern day spirit.
Currently offering three gins and a vodka, the distillery is open to the public five nights a week, with retail options available online and throughout Victoria. 
Danny told us there are plans to expand the kitchen, so watch this space. This was a fun visit with a great product and welcoming staff. As locals to Mitcham we are thrilled that this distillery is in our hood.
