Strato Melbourne is an elevated culinary experience in every sense! Perched on the 40th floor of the Oakwood Premier Melbourne this dining destination delivers a multi-sensory experience that leaves an indelible mark.

From the moment we stepped into the space, we were greeted by breathtaking 360-degree views of Melbourne, dining just inches away from towering 7-meter-high windows that make you feel as if you’re floating above the city.

Each plate of our dining experience told a story, bringing together the finest locally sourced and seasonal produce. Service was impeccable (thank you Mia and venue manager Gary).

The Feed Me meal commenced with impressive Grilled Sourdough and House Churned Butter. The Pacific Rock Oysters served both natural and with a Chilli Soy Caramel, were a highlight, bursting with freshness. The Victorian Burrata, with its creamy interior and vibrant salad, was a triumph, while the Salmon Tartare, featuring Huon Tasmanian Salmon, quickly became a family favorite.

Among the entrées, the Black Opal Wagyu Beef Carpaccio also stood out, the truffle aioli and pickled mushroom perfectly complementing the luxurious wagyu.

For mains, the Honey Glazed Duck Breast Farmed in the Macedon Ranges Bulgur Wheat and the Grass Fed Riverina Striploin were both cooked to perfection and rich in flavor. Free Range Grilled Spatchcock Farmed in Central Victoria with Makhani Gravy, Onion Bhaji, Mint Yogurt was cooked perfectly and not dry, and we loved the vibrant gravy. Victorian Mt Leura Lamb Rack (4 Point) was another melt in your mouth standout.

Desserts did not disappoint, with the Yuzu Honey Ginger Semifreddo and the Dark Chocolate Cube offering a decadent finale.

Excellent paired wines accompanied each course, with the 2023 Frankland Estate Chardonnay and the medium bodied triumph 2020 Isole E Olena Chanti Classico, as well as Penfolds Grandfather Port, being the picks.

Our journey ended with a Moondance cocktail—a beautiful blend of Japanese whisky—and the Yuzu Negroni, bursting with citrusy brightness.
