Dumpling Degustation at New Highpoint Dining Precinct
The World Loves Melbourne recently breakfasted with X Factor winner Dami Im at Highpoint in celebration of the shopping centre’s new dining precinct on Level One.
It was a unique breakfast experience, even for Melbourne. A three course Asian meal – noodles, fried chicken, dumplings and custard buns - before 10am, a reflection of the new, distinct casual dining and urban entertainment precinct at Highpoint. The new precinct defies the usual rules surrounding shopping centre food courts, and brings together a carefully selected and diverse mix of authentic Asian restaurants.
We were picked up on Rickshaws, previously only seen traversing the streets of St Kilda, and transported the short distance from the Pancake Parlour/Hotys Cinema entrance, past restaurants like Grill’d and Guzman Y Gomez to our table in the centre of the food court.
Five different Asian cuisines are available at the new Highpoint dining precinct, and all were on offer on the day of our breakfast: Ajisen Ramen for beautiful Japanese, Dumplings Plus create light fluffy dumplings, NeNe Chicken is the place for the best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), Roti Road creates beautiful rich Malaysian Cuisine, Saigon Square is Vietnamese and Tina’s Noodle Kitchen offers generously sized Sichuan noodles, snacks and broths.
Well worth checking out. We can’t wait to get back and discover what the rest of the shopping centre’s $300 million transformation has to offer!
